Keep sweets away from your pets. Remember chocolate is toxic for dogs!
Try not to dress up your pet in Halloween costumes. This can restrict movement and stress your pet out. If you are planning to dress your pet up, make sure that all items of clothing are loose and can be easily removed.
There is a pretty good chance that strangers will be knocking at your door that your pet doesn't know and may interpret as a threat. If you have an anxious pet, make sure you take preventative measures in advance.
Make sure your pet's microchip details are updated and has an ID tag on their collar.
Candles and lanterns can be great fun but make sure they are out of reach from your pets as this can be a fire hazard. To protect curious cats, try using battery powered candles.
